the STAB franchise is a series of seven slasher movies produced by sunrise studios, originally based on biographical books THE WOODSBORO MURDERS and COLLEGE TERROR by gale weathers. the books chronicled the life of sidney prescott, who's high school boyfriend dressed up in a father death costume and tried to kill her and all their friends. even though stuff kept happening to her and weathers kept writing books about it, only the first three movies were based on sidney- she threatened to sue sunrise for use of her story/likeness, so they backed off and started making shit up instead. stuff got weird from that point on. like, zombies and time travel weird. they had to scrap the original STAB 3 and start over from scratch, cos a ton of people got murdered on set. they made the third movie about that instead! alright, i've tried to give you the basic gist without spoiling too much. here's a list of the movies in order so you can go watch 'em.
