DREDDS SHRINES
i like stuff miitomo (you are here!)

in short, miitomo was a spinoff of nintendo's tomodachi series- a mii-based app for android and ios! it released in 2016, and functioned as what was essentially a kind of nintendo social media, with the main draw (aside from it being free) being interacting with other players through text, as opposed to playing games with them. players could customise their miis and their apartments, post answers to opinion-based questions/prompts, and share outfits they put together with other users in 'style central'. other than a few gacha-style drop games, that was pretty much it. the chat feature was barely moderated at all, which (alongside a dwindling player base) in part lead to the app being shut down just 2 years later in may 2018. rest in piice. its not all doom and gloom, though! there's still a small community of users online. you've just found a wee corner of it!

when you create your mii in miitomo, the app makes you answer a couple questions, and uses your answers to assign your mii two core personality traits! they're SUPPOSED to inform how your mii behaves, but honestly don't seem to have much of an effect on anything. still a bit of craic though! cujo's traits are . . .
outgoing social, charming, energetic- this mii is comfortable in almost every situation, and makes new connections easily.
charmer outgoing and extremely pleasant to be around. able to make friends easily and turn any problem into a positive situation!
i'm flattered, i really am.
i grew up playing the wii with my friends and my little brother. we never owned any tomodachi games, but we had wii play, wii sport, the skylanders series and, for some reason, a random copy of super monkey ball? i think we got it for free when we bought a third remote off of facebook marketplace.
anyways, theres a nostalgia factor. we spent a lot of time customizing miis and grabbing them by the scruff in mii plaza, but it always bugged me how limited the customization options were. i could never make one that looked anything like me, no matter how hard i tried. the whole tomodachi series was never my thing- could not be arsed. no offense to any fans out there, but it always looked boring to me- but the wee pocket sized version that was basically a low stakes, no levels little dressup game? SIGN ME UP! i pestered my friend alias into downloading it too. we were long distance friends for years, so it was fun to make little virtual barbies that could hang out with each other when we couldn't.

the worst thing about miitomo is that it doesn't have a miiplaza! so you can't drag n drop your miis or watch them wander up to each other!! but here's all our wee fellas together anyways

if you're interested, a twitter user called HEYimHeroic colour-picked some pride flags from the mii's favourite colours! i think they're cute. (cujo's favourite colour is 'light green' btw)
